friction grip fence stretcher

We put up six hundred foot of five foot nonclimb yesterday for a quickie fence. Bud just picked up eight acres and needs a corral to hold the ponies (eighteen hands) and goats while he builds his fence.

We dug eighteen inch holes six to seven feet deep and put in telephone poles for corners, gates, ends, and splice points for the wire. Then we put in the t posts.

For stretching I pulled out one of my friction grip stretchers.

Thank you for sharing these pictures. Now I have another welding project. I always just put a pipe through the end of the fence and pull on the pipe. It ruins the end of the wire fence and doesn’t always stretch the field fence evenly.

Next year I will be fencing and cross fencing our 40 acres. I want to rotate sheep in the areas that won’t work for hay and get one cutting of hay off the best parts of the field.
