Well said Amasinga. In Australia we have fairly tight regulations for firearms. Anyone with a legitimate need can get a license. Unfornunately, crooks don't care and can get them anyway. I feel MUCH safer knowing that there are limited firearms around.
Yes I do have firearms for my farm. They are locked away (as required by law) and of no use for "self defense".
I feel that if I am held up by a gun then they are less likely to use it if I am unarmed. If I try to defend myself with a gun, I risk losing control and getting hurt myself.
