Tractor
John Deere 790 with loader, LS xr3140h loader and cab,1150 case dozer
Give the LS a good run today. Hooked up the 60 inch kk tiller, greased the u-joints, checked the gear boxes and hit the dirt full throttle. Not one hiccup from tractor or tiller.(y)

Tilled four hours straight, right around four acres of field for tree seedlings. Even worked the lights too, finishing in the dark. Fighting the weather, ya go like hell when you can.

The xr3140 was very comfortable and warm, unlike the weather 40 degrees and wind howling, wich I would have and had to endure on the cabless 790 in the past:)

Up next with the LS, spraying with the Jacto AJ401 cannon sprayer. when weather permits.....

Looking mighty fine up there Spruce Deere. That is a whole lot of land with very few rocks. Wish I could say the same on my acreage.

Thanks oosik. Two of the fields I'm in have been worked for almost 90 years, the one in the pic 60 some odd years. They have had a alot of years of work that good. Still turn up a rocks now and again.

I'm jealous, you're a good 4 weeks ahead of me. I still have snow on the ground.

We could use more moisture here. We had a mild winter and now a not very wet spring. Makes for a tinder box for fires later this summer.

Till on fellas the ones who can, and for the guys that still under snow and or raining tell that weather to head to the north most Rockies in Montana/Idaho😁

Driving by my neighbors house on the way home Saturday morning, I saw my neighbor attempting to till his rather large garden plot with a hand tiller, non-self-propelled, up a slight hill. He looked like he was struggling. I stopped and asked if he wanted me to hook up to my 6ft tiller and bring it over, to which he asked "Can I do the work though? Can I drive your tractor?"

I went home, unhooked the box blade, hooked up to the tiller, greased it, check the oil, slipped the clutch a bit, and drove it over. Gave him a quick run down of the controls (he has a tractor, very small, and no tiller. I trust his abilities) and walked over to another neighbors to watch and BS with him. Took my neighbor about 20 minutes to till that area, maybe 1/2 acre he uses as a sunflower field.

When he was done, he drove it over to where I was. He thanked me and confessed that he was struggling not just with the walk behind, but keeping the walk behind tiller straight. With my tractor, he was able to make prefect straight borders, which I assume is the reason he wanted to run the tractor himself. He then filled the diesel tank from a can (it was already mostly full and didnt take much.)

But then I got to thinking, its way to early where we are for tilling or planting. The ground still freezes at night. The next day, Sunday, yesterday, it snowed! But the area he tilled didnt appear to be overly muddy when he was out in it. It was soft and very tillable. He had a sunflower field in that spot last year. I dont grow sunflowers, so maybe there is something that that? IDK, but it sparked the itch to get out and get some field work done. Havent yet, still too muddy... but anytime now. Common Spring!!

I use to till a half acre garden for a neighbor who grows everything they eat, even chickens and hogs. I never asked for anything for the service and as the spring/summer rolled on there would be oinions, asperigrass [sp]? Celery, eggs would just show up on the porch....
