Hello,

I have an XG3140. I've been using the tractor quite a bit the last week or so and this morning I found a medium sized cotter clip (aka R clip) in the yard. It is in one piece but does have a marks that kind of make it seem like it was holding a pin in place. The size matches the ones used for the pins you pull to drop the front bumper when you open the hood. Just curious if anyone knows another place on the tractor that sized clip is used? I'd like to avoid an impending disaster if there is one. :D

Thank you!

Folding ROPS hinge pin? Any levers, Pedals, parking brake, etc. All I can think of at the moment.

Look back at all the connections on your 3-point - top link, lower arm links, etc. You are fortunate - you found it. I never do and consequently have quite a spare supply.

You know, I think most things come with a few extra parts on them to shake loose eventually and confuse the owner.

I say if nothing is falling off and it is still running, drive it like you stole it!

My only suggestion is that most (repeat most) things that require an R-clip, on a tractor, come in twos. If it's on one side, it'll be on the other side. I'd start with that.

One day, with my fairly new tractor, I was drag harrowing a paddock when I spotted a bed spring, just laying there on the ground. It was in pristine condition with not a blemish. "Bugger! Where did that come off of?" (Noting that there were no spring suspended beds anywhere around me)

I looked the whole tractor over, consulted my Owner Manual and even called my dealership = nothing. I never did find out precisely but I reckon it came onto the paddock from a round of hay for the horses. :confused3:

Thanks everyone for the replies! I haven't found where it came from yet but I had a nut fall out when I got the tractor too and it still runs! Lol

When you bought it, did they charge you for the spare parts?

Do you have a draw bar? There is a clip through the pin that holds the draw bar.
