Hey all, I'm excited to say that after looking for 7 months I finally found a loader for my 950 that is in very good condition. Picked it up in PA on Saturday and got it off the truck with the boom pole that I bought at TSC.

I also got the valve and tubing with it but it came off a 950 that did not have power steering so I have to have new tubing or hoses made. They are NLA on JD parts site.

The problem is, I can see in the parts schematic how they are supposed to look, but I can't really be sure what ports they go to. The picture below is how my setup is now without the loader plumbing. If there are any 950 owners out there with a loader and power steering that could take a picture similar to the 1 below, I would really appreciate it.

Nice find. My dad had a JD750 once upon a time, it was a good tractor. It had a 70 loader, I've been told models 70 and 67 fit the 750 as well as bigger models, if that helps for diagrams. How well do you like that boom pole? I've been eyeing them.

In your pics it appears you have the scv.

Not sure if I can post this, but if it comes through this is what I did on the 1050 of my dads. According to the book the 950 should be very similar.

Remove the piping that runs from the BYD port on the right side of the SCV valve. Replace this piping with hoses from the BYD to supply of the loader valve. From the BYD on the loader valve to the other end of the pipe removed. Then put a tee in the out port of the SCV valve (top right). Connect the out from the loader valve to the tee (return to sump).

In figure 29 the BYD port is just left of the (circled 2), the out fitting (return to sump) is directly above the (circled 2).

First time I used the boom pole and it did the job better than I thought it would. Spec says it's rated for 500lbs but it lifted the boom and the bucket after I put it on so I think that's a bit conservative.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't think of looking in the service manual that I have on CD. It says exactly how to add the SVC if you have power steering.

Did one better yesterday. I stopped at the local JD dealer and talked to the owner. Had all the parts schematic and pics of my tractor with me and was trying to get an answer out of him when he stopped me. He tells me that he can't remember what went where, and that I was going to have to find a 950 with the same setup. Just as he's saying that, one of his mechanics walked in and overheard the conversation. He looks at the owner and says "Like the one out back?" Sure enough they had 1 out back in for a blown head gasket. We had a pretty good laugh and he told me to go look at it. Took lots of pictures for the guy I found to bend the tubing for me. Now if he would just call so I can get it done by the weekend.
