Foton FT404 - hour meter stopped working

We have a 6 year old 40hp Foton tractor, where recently the hour meter suddenly stopped at ca 930 hours.
- Is there a sensor problem?
- Any of the fuses involved?
- Or is it a mechanical failure of the instrument itself?

- Any other Chinese tractor owners with identical problems? And how did you solve the problem?

- What's an alternative solution? Any external available hour meter installation?

P.S:
Our tractor is a Foton TB404-X161Y1C-QP with C490BT1 Engine bought in June 2009.

I have played with same problem on small Jinma couple of days ago, there was a problem that the gears in clock mechanism dissasembled. But however check does your speed sensor work, check connectors between instrument cluster and sensor. Maybe its a simple discconect of a connector, cant help you more since i have no experience with your tractor model. But first trace wires from speed sensor to instrument cluster.

Does the tachometer work? On my Jinma the tachometer has to be working for the hour meter to run. Most common cause of tachometer not running is the sensor either out of adjustment or failed. To adjust, with the engine off turn the sensor until it touches the flywheel, then back off half a turn.

Quicksanf Farmer has given good advice the only other I would check is the sensor itself. After nearly 1000 hours of use you may find an accumulation of magnet junk on the sensor thats stopping it from working
