Foton 254 won't start after oil change

I have a 254 foton 2007 model that I just changed oil on. Now it will not turn over. It is cool here in the 50s. Oil was flowing very slow done the engine. I'm stumped never had this problem before. I'm going to eat supper then see if it'll start. Hopefully only needs oil to get into the pan and not still through the engine

do you have a compression release?

if so release compression and try to spin engine over via hand..

any chance you hydraulically locked it somehow?

Besides the compression release question, how long before you changed oil (and presumably filter) had the engine last started and run?

Well.....

It was a case of not trusting my new to me Chinese tractor. Almost dead battery. Jumper cable and fired right up.

How long did it take you guys to trust in your little tractor?

I thought it was compression issue too. As far as I know there is no compression let off on these.

It only has 186 hrs on it. I have put five on it.

It started yesterday fine.

Just a low battery. Now I need a rock to crawl under and hide.

Glad you found the problem. I was going to suggest going back to the beginning by taking out the new oil and putting the old oil back in

.

On a more serious note, my Jinma now has around 310 hours and when I bought it new it had only 4 hours on it. It was my first tractor and first diesel. I once had the embarrassing problem of "no start" after I'd just run it for hours. After fooling around with it for a long time and making phone calls, I found the fuel shutoff cable had not fully returned.

After a year of four seasons I pretty much understand the machine and developed confidence.

glad it was something simple.

now.. why did it have a low bat?

lights left on?

old bat?

non op charge system?

bad cell in bat?

check it out.. don't want to take out the charge system with a bad bat.

Smalljobs. I have had that prob on an old ford once.

As far as the charging system. I am not sure if it is not working as I have not checked it. The bat is a no name and may (probably) have came on the tractor new. I do know that the charging gauge only shows a charging rarely. From what I have read that is common on these tractors. I am going to Missouri for deer season in the morning so it may have to wait a couple weeks now.

I do appreciate all the fast responses to my problem. This forum may prove very helpful. Thanks
