What are the unspoken rules on these forums? I read the thread about bringing up old posts and kind'a wonder if there are anymore that are looked down upon other than the obvious. I would not want to ignorantly be breaking rules that I should know.
Thanks

TBN is pretty good when it comes to etiquette, IMHO.
Even some old threads are (most likely) resurrected by doing a search (on a given topic) and just not noticing it stems from 2001.

Not searching for some thing before you ask.

Example how many won't start threads are there?

I have a couple of things that bother me too. I wish more posters would fill out their profiles so you can at least tell what part of the country they are from, or what country they are from.

Another one, is the one and done posters, they post a question as their first post, several people respond, but you never hear from the original poster again. You don't know if the problem was resolved, or if they just didn't get they answer they were looking for.

The last one is the vague post that forces the responders to pry the rest of the information out of the poster. Like, "My tractor won't start". Why not give the whole story. Like, "I have a 19xx (insert your brand and model here) over the last week it has been getting more difficult to start and now it won't crank over at all". And since they have not filled out their profile, there isn't even a starting point for responders, we have to ask all of the questions before we even get to how to address the problem.

That's enough whining from me.

A long very winded post.

Unpaid advertising, as in the signature, is not really an unspoken rule; it's in the written rules.
