Question for you. Has anyone modified a 711 trip bucket and replaced trip with a DA cylinder? If so would it be possible for you to post a picture? And maybe give me the stroke of the cylinder you used?

Second question. If I am going to attempt to make a dirt pan for my fork, would you suggest 1/8, 3/16, or 1/4 inch plate?

Thanks

I'd uset a minimum of 3/16 for the dirt plate, and probably go 1/4 if it wasn't too spendy.

as for the trip to da.. I have not dome it.. but saw it.

they welded a nub onto the boom arm to mount the base of the cyl. clevis then they welded a saddle and raised tab onto the bucket for the front of the cyl rod clevis. the raised tab was an arm.. like 3" to 4" so that they could get some more dump stroke without the piston hiting the rolling forward bucket. i'd measure up the dump range you want then compair that to off the shelf cylinders and come up with something happy, then figure out the arm length needed to make it work.

Thanks for the reply Soundguy. On the DA cylinder, that was an approach that I had started out considering. However, it also seemed, that you could run a cylinder down below the buckets cross bar and connect it to the lower back of the bucket. This approach would force you to have the cylinder extended when the bucket is level and retract it to dump. But not sure if that is a better approach, seems it would keep the profile of the one arm loader looking more like a standard loader because the cylinder and arm on the bucket would not be sticking up above the lift arm and bucket.

Was hoping someone may have already come up with a design or two that would give me a head start, and a picture always helps. But at least with your feedback I know it as been done, so thanks. I will do a little more looking and measuring before I start cutting and welding.

Have you looked at the 722 for some ideas?

looking at a true hyd dump model would be useless for a trip dump model.

that special rocker at the knuckle and push rod won't be available to a trip dump user.

to the op.. if you mount your cyl to the back lower side of the bucket you are getting the rod real close to the dirt.. AND the back of the bucket is thin material.. unlike the side supports, top rial and cutting edge.
