I bought this 2120 new in 1989 and have never had a single problem with it until now. Some of the brake friction discs have degraded and need to be replaced along with several of the friction plates. My question is that it takes 4 per side, 8 total and these parts from Ford New are ridiculously expensive. It would seem that there would be some way to cross reference these parts or at least find an after market replacement at a more reasonable price. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A bit of advice. It is very possible that the friction discs degraded by not using Fords recommended hydraulic oil. The last time I changed the hydraulic oil I used Champion universal (one fits all) hydraulic oil. The problem started after putting the Champion oil in the tractor.

For those of you with sluggish hydraulics. What I noticed first was the hydraulics were action up and as was the shuttle shift. While I new the brakes were worn, it was because of his sluggish hydraulic problem that brought me to change the Hydraulic filter. (which had been changed when the Champion oil was put in) Long story short, the hydraulic filter was plugged with friction disc material. Ken

I'm sorry for the experience you are having. There may be a source of aftermarket discs, but I am not aware of one. There is little doubt that contaminated oil or an oil with the "wrong" additive package can cause this type of problem. Yours is not the first.

A few years late but Tribco has many Ford/Ford New Holland discs on the shelf. Our parts are lined with a Kevlar fibered composite friction material, i.e., often we are more expensive but sometimes not. Call if you need any brake/clutch discs in the future.
