Bolens G192/TS1910 Ford/New Holland 1920
I'm about to purchase a 2wd 1920 built in the 3rd quarter of 1998 with a GB240 loader, 940 hrs. great tires (95% Firestones on the rear). I negotiated the price to 9700.00$ The sheet metal is almost like new and everything apears to be in excellent condition.
I neglected to look for a differential lock when giviing this machine the once over and trying to determine it's worth. I think it will be handy to have considering the 2wd and fel. Does anybody know if this machine indeed has a differential lock?
Thank for help

My 4wd 1920 did indeed have a diffy lock. i used it way more than the 4wd.

I paid 9500$ for a 1997 model, 4wd, 4x12 trans... no loader. I think you are getting a good machine. I'd have traded 4x4 for a loader.. like I said.. i used 4x4 exactly 2 times.. once while discing.. and once when i got stuck .. and the 4wd dind't help me get unstuck.. it got me stuck worse!

Thanks for the input soundguy. I've been rewting around the site this week and I was hoping you would respond.
I'm really looking forward to picking up that machine this weekend. Ive got to drive from Hillsborough county to Lafayette county (3-1/2 hrs) but it will be worth it.
I've been using an Iseki for three years now. It's done a fine job but it's a parts nightmare. I've been keeping my fingers crossed. I'll be taking it to the auction next month.
Thanks again,
look for some pictures next week

Robert,

I don't have personal hands on experience with 1920. It is big brother to my 1700 but a bit heavier and a bit more displacement. 1920 is 3 cylinder vs 2 for 1700. I have looked at it from close and component wise it is almost identical with 1700 except injector pump. I found 1700 to be a great little tractor and very capable coupled with excellent basic design. it is a no frill tractor but very easy to perform a lot of maintenance yourself if you are a bit hands on. I had never any problems acquiring parts from NH and most of the 3 point lift components are shared between 1700 and 1900 series. Having a loader certainly is big advantage. I have seen 1920 sale price any where from 8k to 13 k with front wheel assist. 2 wheel drive bring a lower price by 2-3k. If mechanically sound then it is not a bad deal. You can also find a late model TC-30 about the same price.

JC, Thanks for the input.
You may be surprised, as I was when I noticed that this model ford has a 4 cylinder engine. Seems like a 3 would have been plenty to produce the 32 hp that the specs boast.
I have a New Holland dealer within 3 miles from work that has a website with an on line parts catalogue complete with every expoded view you can think of. That and a shop manual should enable me to fix just about anything that goes arwy.
Hopefully I'll never have to visit the dealer but it's nice to know thier close.

Robert is correct.. the 1920 is a 4cyl.. and I liked the way it sounded and ran ALOT better than a tc33 that sat on the lot next to it.

My bad. I looked at specs on 1910 which is 3 cylinder. Tractor Data did not have a listing for 1920. Since I don't have a good point of reference my ole clanky 2 cylinder sounds good to me too.
