Guys. No start early spring. Finally got it in the shop and figured fuel pump went out. Replaced it. The inline filter and filter in fuel bowl cleaned bowl out too. Cleaned out completely fuel tank and added fresh diesel and power service.
Bleed fuel lines at injector and she starts and runs great. Go next day to move it and no nothing with key. Huh ?? Figured a safety went out sure enough brake safety wires corroded. Re soldered and it cranks over. Great Did not try to start it as it was late and new yrs eve. So I come back next day, jump on it and only cranks over. No start. ( scratch head). Now what. Battery fully charged. Remove bleeder bolt at injector return line with fuel present. Remove #1 injector line with NO fuel present. So I remove the stop solenoid and test it. 12 volt to tab, removed it and bench tested it. Yep works good. Just cranks over, no smoke no nothing. ??????
Please don't say injector pump $$$$$$$$$.

Have 12 v present at stop solenoid. Bench tested it and plunger works.
Safety relay clicking and working

So with the key on and engine cranking over the fuel shutoff solenoid is powered and the fuel transfer pump is delivering fuel to the injection pump?

Could be an injector hanging open allowing compression back into the high pressure fuel lines and IP. outside chance, but it happens. Ditto a stuck delivery valve in the IP. Check the crankcase for overfull / fuel.

Rick. Did notice higher than normal oil level. Also removed injector line at pump and no fuel there.
Any magic trick to free stuck said injector in ip ?

Stuck fuel injector in the cylinder head would be identified by pressure testing the injectors after removal (special equipment).

Stuck delivery valve in IP would require service by a diesel systems repair shop.

Spent many hours today checking and re checking. Figured this
The stop solenoid removed from engine and engine started and ran fine ( minus oil coming out where soleniod belongs).
Reinstalled and no run on engine. Checked voltage again. Key turned to on position. Relay makes and there is 12 volt present
At stop soleniod. BUT. Turn key to start position and the 12 volt drops out. No start as stop soleniod plunger not retracting and allowing fuel to flow thru.

I ran 12 v off battery thru safety relay and "hot wired" stop soleniod open. Yes it starts and runs just fine.
Final conclusion is the key switch is bad. I will see if one is available for a moderate cost. If not I will put a stop switch on dash and live with it.

Thanks for the help
