I know we have about beaten this topic to death, but I wanted a quick update from others who might have a Ford truck with the new 6.4L diesel to compare fuel numbers. I have been trying to comprise some numbers since I have had my truck to share and wondered if it would be helpful to others also. I am curious also to hear from any GM Duramax owners and Dodge Cummins owners who might also have a post-new-emissions diesel what their mileage numbers are doing. Thanks.

I have the new 07 chevy with the Duramax. On my first tank of gas I got 15.5 mpg. That was a combination of frwy and 2 lane hwy and a little in town though signal lights. I am 5 miles back on a dirt road to get to the hwy. I was pretty easy on the peddel and did not go much over 60.

jcmseven, I've got a 2007 DuraMax-Allison 3500 and the mileage just keeps improving as it breaks in. I've got about 2500 miles on it now and just completed a trip where I got 16.5 mpg empty. In a few days I will be making a 350 mile one way trip towing a small JD on a GN 29 ft trailer. This will be the maiden trip for this trailer and will be followed in a couple of weeks with a much larger load of a bigger JD. I am wondering what mileage this is going to get! I need to haul these tractor's often and that is the purpose for this combo.

I have an 05 Duramax / Allison pkg. and 3.73 gears. I only average about a thousand miles a month. For the first 2 years I averaged 17-18 MPG empty and 14-14.5 towing about 7K. Since I hit 25K miles the mileage has improved to 19-19.5 empty (with occassional 20MPG trips) and about 15-15.5 MPG towing the same load. My MPH ranges from 67 highway to 55 and under local. At 67 MPH I'm usually the slowest one on the highway. Above 67 the mileage drops. Mileage was cumputed by hand and is within 3-5 tenths MPG of what the truck computer says.

I don't recall what MPG I got before mods, but it wasn't all that great. Now with my '96 Cummins powered 4X4 dually Dodge I get about 13 in town empty, 16 on the hwy empty, and about 12 on the highway with about 20k behind me. Engine puts out (can't find that darn cash register receipt looking thing I got from the dyno run) about 423 rear wheel hp and something like 1080 ft. lbs. of torque. This is with an automatic transmission - also not stock. :)

I know, nothing to brag about by any means, but I figure that my fuel economy could be worse all things considered.

I have a 2005 CTD 6 speed quad cab. The only mods I have done are the Edge Juice with Attitude and an AFE stage II air filter and the muffler delete.
I Have 22,000 miles on it right now and I usually average right about 19MPG highway empty. ( without putting my foot in it)

I have a 2006 dodge mega cab with a CTD and auto with a cap and my bed is full most of the time and I get 17-18 mpg it only drops about .5 towing my wifes wrangler or our travel trailer.

no mods yet
