ford diesel injection timing on 192

I got an old ray-go loader with a 192 Ford diesel. Was a basket case. Got it back together but have some timing issues. I do not have a manual, so far the only thing that has me stumped is the injection timing. I can time the pump, but dont know where to time it with. I have pulled the #1 injector out and brought the piston to TDC, but that wont work, because that is gas engine timing. Any help would be appreciated.

Here, I will answer this for the next person looking.

The timing marks are on the flywheel, on the same side of the engine as the injection pump. There is a little cover, over a hole about the size of a quarter. Get the engine near TDC on cyl 1 and the timing marks are stamped in the flywheel. The timing of the injection pump is done through the little window on the pump, held in place with 2 screws. This cover needs to be in place when trying to run the engine. I believe the setting is 23 degrees.
