I have a Ford 861 and it is having issues revving up. It starts and idles just fine but when it get's to a certain point while throttling up, it wants to die unless you throttle down. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

What type fuel does engine utilize? Have you checked for good fuel flow from tank?

Like Jim asked, it makes a difference whether it's gas or diesel. With either version you'll want to check both air filter and that you're getting good fuel flow after the filter and work back to the tank if not. If it's gas you'd then have to start looking at plugs, wires and ignition, but those are less likely.
