I need help timing my ford 8600 it is back firing into the oil pan, help thanks

Backfiring into the oil pan? What do you mean by that? Is there a lot of blowby out of the crankcase vent? If so, it is most likely worn out rings or a cracked or burned piston.

Yes, loosing a lot of oil.
