I split my tractor to repair the tranny and change the clutch. I had to remove the hydraulic pump during this process and re-installed after the tractor was back together. Once that was complete, filled with oil and started the engine. The pump would not prime so I added several more gallons of oil and then got it to prime. My problem is that the 3 point pickup is extremely slow and it worked great prior to this work and have no idea what to check. I sent the tractor to the local New Holland dealer and they want to change the pump for around $3500. The pump was fine before all of this. They said the remotes had 2500 to 2800 psi and a flow rate of 5-6 gals. That's a little low but shouldn't that be enough for the 3 point. Another thing I just remembered is the lift / lower handle for the 3 point feels different than before. Now the lever wants to go back to lower position when I take my hand off until it finally raises up, then it will stay up. Could there be something restricting the flow to the lift cylinder in that valve? What are somes things I can do or check?
Thanks, Randy
