Ford 800 lever question

What is this lever for? When I push up or down on it I can hear the oil pump go to work and my three point won't work for a minute until is "seems" like it builds up pressure again. Just haven't figured out this lever.

The lever is connected to a hydraulic valve that has been added to your tractor. Since there is nothing connected to your valve at the moment, the sound you are hearing is hydraulic oil under pressure with nowhere to go. You should avoid moving the lever until you have a hose connected to something like a hydraulic top link for example.

Thank you so much Michford for taking your time to respond to this post. Your description is EXACTLY what I was seeing. I had loosened the pipe plug from the output of the pump to bleed the air out of the system and that is when my 3 point started to work. But I'm so glad you told me what this is. I guess that pipe plug in the top of that flap plate the valve is attached too is where a hose would go? But now I know to stay away from that lever when the machine is running. I guess being I don't have the original top plate or block off plate I should remove the control lever to keep from activating it accidently. I can't thank you enough for answering this thread before I truly damaged something while looking for what that did.

That lever is the draft control lever. In the 'up' position it is in position control. When it's 'down' it activates the draft control for your 3PH, for using ground engaging implements like a moldboard plow. You'll read more about it in your manual when you get it.
