Ford 800 gas shutoff leak

I have had this Ford 800 many years. Last year the gas started leaking at the shutoff under tank. Bought new shutoff, put it on and it held "for a minute". Now, it's leaking worse. I have now read and found that many owners have had this problem. I have no clue how to rebuild. I'm barely able to change oil , etc. I guess I can find someone to work on it, but first. A question: I also have an NAA Golden Jubilee, never any problems with gas leak. Aren't they the same tank? Is it a different shut off valve? Or, anybody else got a simple fix? Help! It's leaking so bad, I can't even run it.

i gave up on the allis chalmers CA tractor i have 1950ish. the gas shut off was also the glass sediment bowl, with a screen in it. i never could get the sediment bowel from stop leaking after a couple minutes of running tractor. i just pulled it completely out, went and bought a 5 buck "in line fuel filter" and a brass ball valve, some hose, and some pipe clamps. and a couple extra fittings to make running hose, filter and ball valve easier.

it may not be stocked fuel shut off / sediment bowl thing. but haven't had a gas leak in ages. and so much easier to turn gas on/off, and to replace the fuel filter.

my issue was the sediment bowl was more special ordered compared to a generic unit. by things just never "lined up" correctly. everything was a little off and sediment bowl was hitting a couple different things.

Maybe the O ring didn't seat properly. Some of the aftermarkets shut off might not fit properly. The NAA is a different tank and different shut off system.

the naa used a side fuel bowl completely different from the mid tank 00 series taps.

it is likely you didn't get the bottom of the tank clean when you replaced the fuel tap and oring did not seal.

you c an tape your old tap, pry the stop rivit ut, remov ethe stem,, and if it is an oring type.. replace the small oring onthe stemp, then reinstall it with a good oring on it's base.
