I'm not a mechanic or engineer. But, it raises some questions in my mind. What is your purpose? Why do you want to turbo a 20 year old tractor with 9000 hrs on it? How much will it cost? What parts will it involve other than the turbo? (different air intake, intake manifold, engine head, exhaust system, bigger fuel injectors, etc) What will you gain?

While it is true that this site is mostly populated by Americans, the real challenge you have it it is more a compact tractor related site than full-size farm tractor-related. Most members wouldn't know a Ford 7810 if it ran over the top of their compact tractor.

The major downside of turbocharging a 7810 is the lack of piston cooling oil jets in the block, and the fact that a 7810 from the clutch back was designed for the HP of a turboed 4 cylinder rather than a turboed 6. Even an 8210 has only a handful more HP than your stock 7810. There is probably more info about what you want to do on your side of the pond than over here, as turning up the wick on smaller framed tractors is a more popular exercise there than here. We tend to buy and use larger frame tractors.

ah, ok. i stumbled on the site when searching so randomly sighned up!
yes i see your point in buying larger tractor, but i need the smaller ford for a particular job but just needs a bit more power.
nice taking to you's anyway.:)

I wasn't suggesting that you need to buy a larger tractor, only that it is the more common response over here. I understand that boosting the HP levels on mid-frame sized tractors is far more common on your side of the pond than ours.
Have you been to the Profi site?

If that's an economical option, go for it, I guess. Just be aware of what Rick mentioned. The clutch, transmission, and rear-end of your tractor was not designed for more hp than you already have. If you get 10% more hp, but it's at the cost of a clutch . . . You get the picture.

We don't see many 7810's over here. But we do have a bunch of 7610's, 6610's, 5610's, etc.
BTW, I've had a New Holland 7610S MFWD for the last 8 years. It's a "bull" of a tractor. Very powerful. 100 hp. It came turbocharged from the factory. Just sold it last week. Replaced it with a cab tractor. I'm really going to miss it. Just couldn't justify keeping it, along with three other tractors.

We're still waiting for the pic.

Very Nice, I put a 7810 engine in my 6600 recently-goes very well! As rick says the lack of piston oil jets is about the only difference which may cause problems-Im guessing your exhaust manifold is like mine and has the square flange(turbo type manifold?) this makes it easy as they have also the oil gallery for the turbo and the return into the block also. Provided you didnt crank the pump up too much and didnt work the snot out of it I say go for it,find a turbo off a TW25 or the like
