What is the real difference in a Ford 7710 and a Ford 7710 "II" . What features will the "II" series have that the non "II" series wont have? thanks

For tractors produced for the North American market, the main difference in Series II 7710's is the cab.

I have asked this question to a few locals "coffee shop talk" and about all I can get is "better hydraulics". No one seems to know specifically where or why. Most will also say a series II can be identified by a flat cab vs dome cab. Any "specific" information is appreciated. I have located a pretty nice "NON series II" and want to make sure Im not missing out on anything of significance. thanks again

"the main difference in Series II 7710's is the cab" That's specific.

There is no difference in the hydraulic systems from an operational standpoint. There will be subtle differences in the electrical system, instrument panel, and perhaps in the MFD axle.

As Rick said the main difference is the cab. The series II cab is much nicer then the dome top cab on the original 7710.

Given the relative age of both styles, cab condition and the function of the A/C system is more important to me than which one is bolted to the tractor. Either can be good or bad on a 19-29 year old tractor.

We have a 7710 and 2 8210 II, the interior in the II series will be black and the I series it will be blue, another big differance is the amount of lights that each tractor has. the II will have lights on the roof in the back AND the front. Also you may find english tractors to. if the back glass is split verticle it is american and if it is split horizontal it is a english tractor. Now the american ones will bring a little more than the english ones, but all of ours are english and one has all the warnings written in gernman. our 7710 has a GB770 loader and is 4x4 and has over 7100 hrs on it and is going good.

Rick made a good point already but if you have a chance hop into both cabs and you will see. The II series cab just felt more comfortable and I think it is larger. Has better lighting also. I like the looks of it better also but that doesn't mean much. I feel the II series cab is quieter then the older dome top. But a well taken care of dome top (Rick, wasn't this cab referred to as the Q cab? I can't remember but I know my english friends generally refer to one of these cabs as a Q cab) would be a better choice then a worn out and abused II series cab if the tractors are equal.

If you are considering a Loader for this tractor, this is what I have on the difference between the two series. Frame styles are different and loader options vary between the two series. It looks like the wheel base may be wider on the Series II; we don't note that the front wheels must be set out for loader installation. We also don't list the smaller loaders on the Series II. Some additional notes indicate that the tractor may have a longer hood/frame as the loader requires a non-standard front wrap. Only when we get to our very large loaders of over 14' lift height does the cab start to interfere with installation.

You can view frame differences on our loader selector online and preview some photos as well. (2WD model has most photos)
