Anybody else have trouble with these? Both my power angle cylinders were replaced about 7 years ago. At the time I understood, because it had set out in a field for about ten years, but this time, they have been used every season (two driveways only), and always stored inside, winter and summer. I took them for a re-seal today, and they are no good. The cylinders are pitted, again, and this type seals on the cylinder, not the ram. Any suggestions on how to prevent this? Or a source for a different type of cylinder? I will post some pics shortly to show what type they are.

I have no problems with any other hydraulics on the tractor, so I don't think it is my fluid, which is changed about every other year. For the record, my other hydraulics are a FEL and BH. I have had the FEL for around 20 years, and never had to change a seal yet.

This is one of them. Doesn't matter that the ram is shiny and clean, because it is not the sealing point. There is a very small weep hole on both cylinders, I presume to allow things like water or excess oil out. I would like to retro fit the other type of cylinder, if not maybe I can make the weep hole bigger so I can spray wd 40 in there, or air to dry it out?? I just think $850 bucks every 5 years is a little steep for the amount of use this thing gets. These were replaced 7 years ago, but have been leaking for 2 years already.

Try looking on ebay for snowplow cyl., see if they might work. There was a lot of them, the last time I was on there and a good price.

I am finding a lot of options out there for cylinders, but everything so far has two ports, where my existing cylinders only have one. Could I use two port cylinders if I put my pressure lines on opposite sides, and then coupled the remaining two ports with a short hose?

Looks like the problem will be that I have a retracted length of 14 inches, pinhole to pinhole. Any one else have any suggestions? Or know where I can get a better price on New Holland part #SML26950? I need 2 of them unless I come up with a better plan.
