Hello I have a Ford 660. The tractor runs great and is in great conditon. the only issue I have with this tractor is when you go to work it for long periods it starts to over heat it will even to it in the middle of winter. The head is not leaking internally or externally the radiator is fine and it has plenty of coolant. The tracor seems to do it more going down hill than up hill. I am thinking there is an air bubble in the system but how do you get it out.

Well, your title is in error. The only tractor that is a Golden Jubilee is the 1953 Ford NAA model. Even the 1954 NAA is just called a Jubilee and not a Golden Jubilee. Small detail, but I thought you might be interested.

With your problem, I'd say you need to check the following:

1. thermostat operating properly
2. water pump operating properly (the vanes in the pump can erode away)
3. radiator core completely clear internally and externally for air flow (This is something that may be best checked by a professional radiator shop to ensure each core tube is clear.)
4. restriction in hoses
5. in need of a good flush to remove scale inside the engine
6. fan belt slipping
7. damaged fan or fan shroud

One or more of those issues may cause a problem. There is of course the possibility that your temperature gage is malfunctioning. Is the tractor boiling over? You might want to invest in a cheap IR non-contact thermometer from Harbor Freight to do a double check of the temp gage.

ditto what jim said.

while a 660 shares the same 134ci red tiger engine of a NAA that is where most of the similarities stop.

660 has a 5spd tranny with live pto via 2 stage clutch.. naa is a 4spd signle stage clutch non live pto.

naa is 2.9gpm hyds, and 660 is 4gpm

better axle seals and hub design on the rear axle onthe 660 ( 00 series is from 55-57 )

Do make sure the core is clean and can be seen thru.

as a quick flow test, remove top hose from radiator and also remove thermostat and have a bucket ready.. start tractor and see if the impellor will pump water into the bucket good.

next, pull bottom hose and put in a 1/2" garden hose in the top hose hole with a rag.. turn hose on full.. radiator should flow full flow of a 1/2" hose.. if not.. it's plugged.

could be considerable scale and debri in the engine and rad that hurts heat disipation..

do repalce the thermostat.. replace the radiator cap.. and heck.. I'd invest in a new temp gauge.. never know.. old one may be bad.

post back.
