I have a Ford 655D Backhoe that will not start. I have clean the fuel tank, replaced the shut-off assembly valve, blown out all fuel lines , replaced the fuel bowl, replaced the fuel filter, had the injector pump rebuilt, and removed it a second time to have it checked again to see if is was working properly and the shop that rebuilt it said there was nothing wrong with it and was working properly. When we replaced the injector pump the first time after it was rebuilt the tractor would run for about 60 seconds then shut down. If you waited for about 10-20 seconds it would start back up again and run about the same amount of time. Pull the pump the second time took it back to the rebuild shop and they said it was nothing wrong with it. Now after replacing it the tractor will not run at all without starting fluid . Not sure what I can do next to get this problem resolved. Need help on anything else that might be wrong

Welcome to TBN. I suggest disconnecting the fuel line as close to the tank as you can. Check that fuel flows freely. You may have crud or algae built up at the tank output point. This could permit fuel to slowly flow and refill the filter bowl but not flow fast enough for the engine to continue running. Sometimes fuel filters go bad, too - even new ones. In any case starting fluid is not recommended for diesel engines.

Since it will start, but not remain running, it sounds like a fuel issue. Di you have the mechanical fuel pump with the glass bowl on the bottom? Is the screen inside the pump clean? What is the fuel pressure coming out of the fuel pump?
