ford 4600 will not pull on incline

my father inlaw owned a ford 4600 tractor and has passed away a few years ago. i have been using it a few times a year bush hogging and scraping their road. i have noticed in high gear it doesnt want to go if in a bind or on hill. it has gotten to where it does it in low gear also. is fluid low? clutch gone? not sure how much fluid or what kind i should use. i dont know much about them. any help appreciated. thanks!

Sounds like the clutch is slipping. Probably needs adjusted, or it may be totally burnt up by now, and may need replaced.

i was afraid if that. any idea what it would cost to replace?

I honestly have no idea as to price to replace, but the first order of business is to try to get the clutch adjusted correctly..........then go from that point.

Do not use the tractor until it is looked at/clutch adjusted, as the damage will only get worse with continued use.
