Hello All,

I’m new here having just recently discovered this incredible resource while researching a tractor purchase. I just acquired a Ford 455 Skiploader at auction. Unfortunately it did not include any manuals, etc. I have found some reprinted manuals on the web but not much else, and the manuals have not arrived as of yet. Does anyone know much about these? I’d be very interested in any information such as specs, experiences, advice, etc. The serial number I was provided is “R40054”. I have a sneaky feeling that this is way more tractor than I need, but hey! Isn’t more always better?

TIA.

I may be wrong but i believe you have either a 555 or 655 skip/landscape loader. It looks exactly like a 555 or 655 hoe. The 455 had an anlged front boom where as the latter had the straight boom and zbar linkage. My older brother had a 455 hoe and a 555 and 655 landscape loader before he retired. Your box blade sould have a down pressure a hydraulic 3rd arm, a hydraulic tilt, and an optional hydraulic scarifier. we used ours on paving jobs in areas too sensitive to use the dozer in or too small to get athe grader in. I noticed that yours had an extension on the bucket to.

If im not mistaken i believe the front shell off a 455 would fit a a a 555 and 655 but changed on the 755. Best reguards Taylor lambert

GSD is the ONLY dog! I'm on my third working dog right now and I grew up with them. My father handled for San Francisco PD, somewhere I have a photo of me as a baby napping on the side of his working GSD.

Taylor,
Thanks for the info. I kinda’ hope you’re mistaken as I have ordered manuals for the 455! Your description certainly sounds like mine. It does have the strait loader arm and “Z” linkage. The Gannon box does have about 5 hydraulic axis as well. The bucket extension is just welded on, the previous owner probably used it to load manure or sawdust which are common uses in the central valley. I will remove it pretty quick.
