Ford 4000 3 cyl diesel Hydraulic Problem

I can' get my 4000 to lift the attached disk. It was intermittent for a little bit, then quit completely, This is a trailer disk with two hose cylinder on it. The 3point lift arms work great as does the loader.

The hose will jump a bit when I try to lift. Then cannot disconnect the hose without shutting off the tractor as there is too much pressure on the hose.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

try swapping the hoses to the quick disconnect to see if it will raise when moving the lever the opposite direction.

Also try feathering the control to lift the disk very slowly.

A failing or poorly seated quick disconnect can cause intermittent failure like you are described

System needs to be bled to remove/connect hoses. Just shut off the engine and take the hyd control and move it back and forth a few times. Should come right off.

Lift problem could be a clog in a flow restrictor deliberately put in the hyd lines to restrict flow allowing for softer landing of the implement...nothing but a flat disc with a hole in it. Pull the connections off the hoses and off the cylinder. Use compressed air to force the cylinder to move back and forth. Blow the hoses out. Take one end loose from the implement after reconnecting the hyd connections and work the control back and forth a few times resulting in the ram moving out and in. Reconnect to the implement and try again. Reply back.

Thanks for the help. Problem solved. I replaced a tractor hose to get a new fitting. The Hose Shop was unable to get the old fitting off.
