Ford 3910
I have a 1986 Ford 3910 with the single pump hydraulic system. Currently the tractor has an open-centre FEL connected to the selector valve under the seat and has NO remotes. I want to add a single spool remote control valve to run some double-acting hydraulic actuators on some implements, for occasional use. I understand that there is a Power Beyond adaptor plate (Tisco HV5902) for this model of tractor, and I've read through the other threads on this site regarding the installation. I haven't found a good drawing of exactly where in the system the HV5902 taps off the hydraulic system to fully understand if my plan will work.

What I can't figure out is whether I can mount the original selector valve on top of this PB plate. The installs I found all had a different blanking plate on top. Does anyone on here know if the selector valve mounts up properly to the top of the PB plate to allow me to connect my open-centre remote valve there? I would like to connect my FEL (which has a PB port available) to the HV5902 PB plate, and connect my remote valve to the outlet of the selector valve. That way with the valve in the back position, I have FEL and 3-point hitch together and in the forward position I have my remote valve (if my understanding is correct).

Any advice or input anyone might have for me on this modification would be great.

Thanks,
Brad

I'm not sure on the plate and remote setup your showing but if you can find the deluxe remote valves and the engine mounted auxiliary pump you will have really strong hydraulics that will work independently from the three point hitch. The setup I am talking about is found on all the 10 series tractors.

I don't have a FEL but I do have an after market single remote and control installed.

Since its an open center feed system, I would think that the IN-OUT ports going through that access point, on any and all functional adapters (except the top plate) will have flow through ports in the same place as the feed from the mid section tractor casting. With that said I personally don't know why I wouldn't try stacking functions and then covering with the OEM plate that capped the casting before any aux fittings were added just understanding that I should only expect one function to be operated at a time.....don't know why that wouldn't work....with longer mounting bolts.

If you buy the part and it doesn't work you might try a local machine shop to make you an adapter plate that will work. I have one nearby and they have helped me out of a lot of problems including hydraulic restoration types.

You can take the FEL plate off and install your new plate, put the cap back on and test it. If it works, take it back off and compare holes in both plates....maybe a Ford service manual will show you which holes are IN-OUT ports and you can see if yours line up. I have a 3910 manual out in the shop but its cold out there and I am dressed for bed.

The two pump system would also require the priority pack that occupies the space where the selector valve sits now. Neither the selector valve nor the tapping manifold is compatible with the two pump system and deluxe closed center remotes. The OP's own photo is evidence that the two pump system is not present on all 10 series Fords.
The OP can install the TISCO (or OEM) tapping manifold on his tractor with the selector on top and retain the single pump if he wishes.
