Buying Advice Ford 3910 6 speed transmission

Hey guys!
Been a while since I was around but I need some advice and/or experiences.
I've found a sweet deal on a 1987 Ford 3910.
The tractor looks great, runs great and everything works as it should.
There are no leaks at all.

The only hesitation I have is this tractor has a 6 speed transmission.
My local Ford dealer says they've never seen nor heard of a 3910 with a 6 speed,
all the 3910's they've ever dealt with had an 8 speed. (Dual Range or Synchromesh)

I saw on Tractordata.com that a 6 speed was available starting with the series II
in 1986.

Does anyone have any experience/knowledge of the 6 speed 3910?
Any pros or cons on the 6 vs 8 speed?

I really like the tractor, the price fits my budget but this transmission question has me a
little bit hesitant until I find out more.

I clicked on this when I saw 6-speed...never heard of it!

Double check that it has live PTO and look at the speed chart and see if the gears are spaced good or are the right speeds for your jobs.

Only buy if if you like it, I am guessing resale is LOW....
