I’m almost embarrassed to post this, but I can’t figure out how to remove the air filter on this thing.

I’ve tried pulling it and turning it, but it won’t budge. I figure it’s got to be easier than I’m making it, so before I break something, what’s the trick I’m missing?

It most likely just pulls out (I'm just guessing); generally air filters are just pushed in place vs being secured by a bolt or something. If you have a new filter already, look it over, as that should give you an idea as to what is on the part of the filter that you can't see.

If it's been in there a long time, maybe just give it a few good whacks with a hammer to break loose any corrosion or gunk that is causing it to not move.

Edit: maybe stick a flat head screwdriver in between the housing and the filter and then pry it up a little to see if it breaks loose

On my 2600 it just pulls straight out.
