We had our tractor battery clicking, and went to charge it.. was dark and connected it backwards. Quick sparks and smoke from below the starter - where the loop end of the fusible link is connected. It looks like, replacing this cord is the first line of action? There don't seem to be many current - the other end snaps in. When looking we see many fusible links without the encasement. Does anyone know if it actually houses a fuse? Trying to decide what to buy and try. If this doesn't work, what is next. Can the solenoid just be replaced or will we need to do the whole starter?
