Tractor
1976 Ford 335
New member to the forum, but have referenced it many times while researching this tractor.
I've this 1976 Ford 335 for 10-12 years now but hadn't had to do much other than basic repairs and up keep, and it's been a work-horse. But after an overheating issue last year it's in need of more in-depth engine work done to it.

Since this era of industrial tractors doesn't appear to be very well documented and some information contradicts others I figured I'd make this a two part post. 1) Get a second opinion on my stamped tractor identification numbers, and 2) absolutely try to verify which size engine it has. Any and all labels under the hood are long gone, so all I have to go by is what I can make of the stamped numbers and casting numbers found on it.

1) Tractor -
Model: CU212K
C - Ford 3000 Series
U - Utility
2 - ?? (possibly making it a Highway Utility)
1 - Diesel
2 - Trans 540 PTO
K - 6/4 Manual Reversing Transmission

Production: 6L04B (third digit looks kind of like a weird 6 or 0, but 6 wouldn't make sense as part of the "day" code)
6 1976
L - Nov
0 - Day
4 - Day
B - Day Shift

Serial: C549468 or C349468 or (double stamped first digit, 5 makes more sense to me)

2) More importantly is the engine identification. Trying to line out parts to order prior to having to dismantle it and figure it out that way. It has the 3 cyl diesel. Plenty of places say it "should be" the 175 CID, but I see more of the 192 CID stuff listed when trying to look up parts and such. My understanding is this tractor is based off a 3600, which had the 175, but a 3610 had the 192. A 340A had the 175, but a 340B had the 192. Etc, etc, so that only adds to the confusion. I've seen the same casting number referenced as being any of the three potentials (175, 192, 201), but then I'v seen where the end letter designation may distinguish them apart. I had also read where the letter on the serial number on the engine block might confirm one or the other. So I'm looking for input from forum members on what they think based on decoding my engine numbers. Heck, I don't even know if what's in it is original, most likely is though.

Thanks ahead of time for any input.
