Ford 3000 - What is it? Pic

Hey guys -
I just picked up an older ford 3000 a few days ago, but really have not had much time to explore it. I even had to have the wife email me this photo so I could post it

Here is my question...there is a lever on it I don't know what it does? I use to have an older ford 4000 and it did not have a lever like this one. Is this the parking brake? On my 4000, it was at the pedal. I just assumed it was broken on this one (not there!).

According to the New Holland parts site, it is called a transmission handbrake.

G'day this is a park brake but i have not seen one on an ag 3000 mainly the ind ones
