Guys,
I need some advice. I have replaced a power steering cylinder on my Ford 3000 twice and both times it has blown the retaining clip out of the end and as a result the packing comes out. The 1st cylinder I took back to the New Holland dealer but when it happened again (instantaneously) I figured the problem was in my system. So I took the 2nd cylinder to a hydraulic shop and they said they had never seen this before and that it should not happen. They put the cylinder back together and made sure the snap ring was in it good and tight. I took the cylinder home, re-installed it and so far it is holding but I have not put the tractor to work, just drove it around the yard.
Have any of you ever heard of this and if so what do you advise.
Thanks,
Lost Cause.
