three temp options for 3000 tractor gas engine which one is best? 168 172 or 188 I use tractor for small jobs and plowing driveway in winter. thanks

Everyone is debating install Tstat or no Tstat on another thread.........

Really a matter of preference what you pick, supposedly the 160 may offer some overheat protection in hot weather while the 188 offers better engine emissions and economy.
So the 172 would be a compromise.

With small jobs and major winter use I would go with the 188 to assure the engine warms.

There's really no debate on whether or not to have a thermostat. There's no good reason not to have one, and every good reason to keep a functioning thermostat in the cooling system.
