Good Fellow tractor lovers,
I am new to the forum having exhausted all options to try and get off the transmission main shaft. The challenge is to try and change the front pilot bearing and rear main bearing - Unfortunately I don't have a workshop manual and out in rural parts of South Africa, failed every effort to purchase/download one from the net.
I am hoping that someone can help.
I have split the tractor between the gearbox and hydraulic box. The transmission box essentially appears to be two parts, with the real part fitted with a cover - removed this and effectively removed the whole high low ratio change - So far so good,
I can now turn by hand the main shaft assuming the gear shift sliders are played with. Seems to me that the shaft should simply pull backwards but gentle pulling ( don't want to break anything) will not get it loose.
Now to the question
looking at the exploded parts drawing - Seems that there is a snap on cir clip on the front of the shaft, does this need to come off before the shaft moves backwards - any tricks to doing this as all the snap on piers i have in my arsenal don't seem to fit this limited space or what and I doing wrong
regards from South Africa and I look fwd to your comments
regards
