Been a long time from here with a lesson learn the hard way. Last fall before putting up my 1975 Ford 2000 tractor up for a winter rest,I had service it with new oils thru out. What I found was that after pressure washing it,I was forcing water into the trannie at the shifts. Not good! Anyway, after flushing that out and all clean,I installed a new filter and oil. Well, just yesterday,I fired her up after 3 months of laying up. She jump right off,YES! Once I had her warmed up,the hydroulics were not working like they should. Ouch! Going back to the 5 gallon bucket of oil that I used that was sold to me that it was for Ford tractors,I notice that it didn't have a weight of what the oil was. When I had put it in,I did notice that it was to heavy of a oil. That should of sent a bell off in my head. Anyway, I dumped that oil out and had refilled with a lighter oil (32W) and everything is just fine. After talking to the guy that sold the oil to me in the first place,he found out that the oil he sold me was in fact 48W.

Anybody ever do this before and had any problems after the fact?

If you poured a straight hydraulic oil into the rear axle center section, you may have more problems coming. A universal hydraulic/transmission/wet brake oil is called out. Plain hydraulic oils do not have properties to sufficiently lube your ring and pinion, and differential and axle bearings.

X2. You need a UTF that meets the Ford 134 spec I believe.

yep.. sounds like you had aw46 in and just went to aw32.. both WRONG fro the rear sump that is common with the diffy.

needs an oil meeting hte m2c134d spec.. generically refered to as utf oil.. like the dealers ambra G.. or tsc/walmart utf oil.. etc.

if you don't own a manual for that machine.. now's the time to get one so you know what's what..
