Price Check Ford 2000 Offset

My father-in-law recently purchased a Ford 2000 Offset model tractor. We know very little about tractors and I am trying to purchase some manuals.

I am having trouble pinning down the details about this tractor.

i think that we found the S/N on the transmission housing behind the starter on the left side of the engine but am not sure.

Anyone know any more about this model or how to use the S/N to make sure that I order the correct manual, etc?

You don't need the sn to order the manual. ford only made 2 4 cyl offset tractors back then.. a 59-62 541 offset.. then for 63/64 they updated the sheet metal a tad, change dthe color and called it a 2000.

the sn is on the bellhousing aft of the starter. same with the model ID number.

fo-20 service manual covers everything from 55 thru 64. there is likely a manual supplement covering the 2000 offset.. I know there was for the 541. If you can't find one for the offset let me know and I'll copy mine for the 541.. literally the only 'real' changes were color and nose/hood/grill sheet metal between the 541 and the 2000 offsets.

I have a 541 and am quite happy with mine. had a chance to buy a 2000 but it was too beat. once you get her working she will be a good investment tractor.

the rear of the machine will be functionally similar to a 740.. final drives, pto.. etc. special fender.. etc.. then you will have some special 3pt parts.. may or may not have the brackets for the mounted cultivators.. etc.

she will have the 134ci gas, 144ci diesel engine.. lp was available.. though i never have seen an lp offset. Hi crop available too.

hyds are kinda special with an offset sump, and a feeder system to feed the top cover vs being fed thru the center section like an ag model.
