Planters Ford 2 row planter

I was at a farm implement auction yesterday and saw a 2 row Ford planter go for $875.00. It wasn't painted or fixed up all that much; however the seed bins and fertilizer box were in good shape. It looked ready to go to the field. The prices on two row planters are going out of the roof. I used to have one of those planters. Wish I had kept it.

You'll find an occasional bargain on 2-row planters, but for the most part, they've doubled in price in the last 4 or 5 years. Deere #71's have gone nuts. Just a few years ago, you were LUCKY to get more than $250 per row out of one if you were selling. I've seen a couple 2-row versions on home-made hitch's sell for $1500 in the last year. The Deere 246, Ford 309, MF#39, ect models with a good fertilizer attachment are starting to skyrocket. It's the fertilizer attachment that has the value hopping.

In the last 2 weeks, I've bought two Massey Ferguson #39 2-row planters. One I'm keeping, the other I listed for re-sale. I paid $435 and $450 each. The one I advertised @ $775 and the very first caller bought it sight unseen. Probably should have priced it higher.
