ford 1310
i purchased a tractor from a local water works and they said it had a slow leaky cylinder for the 3 pt. when i tried it out at the plant and unloading it worked fine, then it slowly went to the ground and would not work. This afternoon with the finishing box off, the 3pt lifted and lowered a few times and quit and slowly went to the ground.I read posts about 1710 with similar complaint but he sold it before finishing.

I would check the hydraulic fluid levels and condition. Second check the strainer/filter and clean as necessary. Third get a oil filled pressure gauge to test system. Fourth check the lift linkage and bypass valves. If all that checks out look at changing the seals on the 3pt lift cylinder.

Thanks, I'm not sure where the filter is and would it have a bypass valve since it has no bucket

Do you have a manual? Drawing attached, look at item 12.
There is still a bypass/pressure relief to prevent over pressure.

Not sure if they are the same, but should be similar. The manual I have list 1300, 1500, 1700, and 1900. Most items are very similar.
