Ok I have a 1989 Ford 1920
In the past I have replaced the ignition switch with Ford oem switch and was fine
The neutral safety switch was replaced a year or two later worked fine
Couple years later usually after first cold spell or when tractor wasn't used in a while tractor wouldn't start just like when it needed the NSS replaced well I removed and jumped the switch and all was well for a while.
Then it happened again and I'm scratching my head. Finally was looking wires over and I tapped on this black electrical thing and it started fine. Huh!
Still even now couple years later
Every once in a while usually after first cold spell or when tractor wasn't used in a while tractor wouldn't start.
Tap on this and it would start
Until today!
Really had to play with it and it finally started
And ran well and restarted later in the day too!
Is this where the wires from the NSS come out of? Can it be jumped? I have no problem replacing it but can't find anything like it listed on the Ford website
i looked a couple of years ago and after looking again same result.
Could Ford have changed wiring and done away with part?
My local Ford dealership parts guy is pretty useless in helping figuring this out.
I circled part in red and took wider shots to show location on firewall on muffler side
Any help would be appreciated
Mike
