Loader Ford 192 Industrial Gas Engine/Diesel Conversion

I have an older Vermeer M50 loader converted to a tree spade. The engine is a Ford 192 Gas Industrial. Is there a Diesel Engine that would fit in its place? The Engine attaches to a Funk transmission. Please let me know if you have any recommendations or ideas that would simplify this conversion. I would like to go back with a Diesel engine. I don't know if Ford made a engine that would fit in its place with the same hole alignments. Also, if you know of a complete assembly (Engine/Transmission) that I could drop in its place and get rid of all the older equipment.

How many hours a year does this equipment operate ? Does the gas engine operate ? Maybe just install a Pertronix upgrade in the distributor and run it .

Thanks for your response. We don't use it a whole lot but wanted to convert it to a diesel setup just to clean it up a little.

Leaving it a gasser with the points replacement would be the simple low cost choice .

Ya. The effort & cost to re-power things isn't likely to pay off, especially if it's not used often. Heck, unless you have something that was designed to be swapped in it's hard to make it cost effective.
