JJ,
I do recommend Ford 1700 very highly provided it is in good running order. It is simple and nimble and for size/price/ performance is hard to beat. Of course, all of that within it's physical limits. If you are mechanically inclined most of the repair and maintenance can be done pretty economically. I had mine for 8 years and would never part with it and still is my go to tractor unless I need a lot more hp and loader work. it sips diesel with a tiny straw and give back quite a bit in return. I have tons of posts and some threads about F-1700. it does have a very well detailed documentation of all major work/repairs in this forum. Use the search engine under my name or simply Ford 1700 and your subject of need/interest and I bet ya you'll find something of value. Give us detail about the rig and pic so we have a better feel for your particular Ford 1700.
JC,
PS. Make sure to watch for two Major things such as; "engine lubrication and heat dissipation" so you would not have reason for major repair and you'll be good.
