My Ford 1620 continues to run after the ignition is turned off. It still runs with the ignition key removed. I cleaned the connections on the fuel solenoid and the problem continues. This problem began yesterday, prior to that it was normal. The tractor is parked inside when not in use. Thanks in advance for the help, first time post here.

I removed the fuel shutoff solenoid and then re-attached it to it's wiring. It seems to operate normally when the ignition switch is turned on and off, the plunger moves in and out. Reinstalled I can hear it clicking when the ignition is cycled. But, since the tractor continues to run with ignition off I have to think it still has fuel flow, even if the shutoff solenoid appears to be working. I guess I'll replace the fuel shutoff solenoid and go from there.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I installed a new fuel shut off solenoid but the problem persists. The service manual says to change the fuel shutoff first, then the ignition switch. There are four wires to the ignition switch, I'll clean the attachments and try again before I remove the switch.
Any ideas out there?

If you have a jump box or jumper cables, connect a full 12volts to the fuel solenoid valve posts and see if that shuts it. If so, your voltage loss in the tractor wiring is too high to shut the valve.

I checked voltage to the fuel shutoff and it's 12 volts. I replaced the fuel shutoff solenoid and the tractor still won't stop running. That tells me (1) the fuel is still flowing after turning off the ignition, with a new shutoff solenoid. So (2) I guess the fuel pump isn't shutting off when the solenoid activates. Maybe it's internal in the fuel pump. When I turn off the ignition the fuel gauge stops reading and the lights turn off, so I think the ignition switch is good, even though the tractor continues to run. I'll take the tractor to actual tractor mechanics next. I've run out of things I can do.
