The front axle on my 4wd 1510 has started leaking. It is the seal on the final drive gearbox.
It leaves about a quarter size drip mark after parking it overnight. I have also noticed the front axle pressurizes as if there is no vent. I have looked all over the axle and have not found one. When I remove the fill plug/dipstick you can hear air escaping. Here is the fill plug.
I believe this seal can be replaced with general hand tools, is this correct? Has anyone done this repair already? Tips? Has anyone else experienced the axle pressure issue? Seems like there should be a vent.
