I've run across a Ford 1500 that is for sale. Someone that I know and consider to be honest. It has about 940 hours on it, and seems to be in pretty good shape. I drove it yesterday and ran it through the gears and it ran great.
The only things I really noticed is that the inside treads were a little worn (chewed) on the back tires? The headlights didn't work. They've mainly used it for mowing (with a flail mower, which they are including with it). They pushed dirt around a little with a blade, but that was about it.
Does any one have a 1500? What do you think of it, etc? They are asking 5k for it.
I have 6.5 acres, both trees and cleared land, but not like a pasture. I plan to use it to maintain a gravel drive way, mow, haul fallen trees around back to burn, pretty much light duty stuff. A FEL would be great, but this one doesn't have one.
When I look at the costs of new tractors compared to finding a good used one that I "trust" the owners, it is hard to pass up, especially with new house payments, new home improvements, etc.
Any feedback is welcomed.
Thanks.
Neal
