the other day I needed to add hydraulic fluid to my ford 1300 which I accomplished, however as I was reinstalling the fill plug it broke off flush with the top of the housing. this is a plastic sort of plug which I could probably try an easy out on but I was wondering how to keep the inevitable bits and pieces of plastic from falling into the transmission, rearend ,hydraulic tank. any thoughts or ideas are appreciated. I was able to order a new plug from messick's thanks to a link sent to me by another tractor enthusiast. god bless everyone who takes their time to help others.

If it's plastic, heat up an old screwdriver to blue and melt it into the plug. Hold until cool or squirt water on it then unscrew the plug. No chips and no broken plugs.
