I found out that the starter for an IH and Case 1120 1130 1140 234 235 244 245 254 255 will cross reference to the max26 XL. It just came in today and i wont put it on until tomorrow. Looks identical to it though. Only $154 on ebay also. A lot cheaper than one from Mahindra. Heres a couple pics of it. Hope this helps someone else out. Put some dough into your pocket.

$96 at All States Tractors Supply. High end Denso brand too, no knock-offs either.

The also have others that fits other machines at the same low OE great prices.

Were you looking at the old school starter that is solenoid based vs. the modern types with OSGR? The OSGR starters cost less and are more reliable.

I actually have a 1984 IH254, for starter or alternator I took mine to local alternator shop for rebuilding He even replaced the mechanical voltage regulator with a sealed electronic one. Its 40 year old tractor, those engines are in everything from heavy equipment to boats.
