I'm looking at the BX2200 or the B7500 with HST. My old garden tractor had the column hydro control. (Cub Cadet 127) My concern is how I will adapt to the foot pedal HST control. How about on bumpy ground. How long does it take to become comfortable to that type of foot control? Do they have a cruise control setting like the big machines?

Many people have done the same as you are about to do and they have wondered why they didn't come up with the foot petal sooner. It does make driving easier as in those rough condidtions it is easy to let up on the petal to slow down rather than beating up the equipment. It allows you to have the freedom to keep hands on the wheel or on controls to work your attachments. There are times that handicaps become major if it is with your right leg.

With no time it will be second nature w/foot control.
My only draw back was wearing big winter boots{snowshoes/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif}for I keep slipping of the pedal...but thats me./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
See if the dealer will let you take for a spin over some rough ground, also leg lenght does make a different.
Good luck.

I have a Cub Cadet 149 and a BX2200. The foot control is very natural feeling. No cruise control, but I haven't noticed a problem on two acres. It doesn't move freely (has a damper) enough to move accidently over rough ground. It also leaves the hands free to steer and run the loader. You are getting the loader?

I'm a big fan of foot control. When I was a kid we had a Simplicity lawn tractor with a hand lever control for the HST and it was always a pain having only one hand to steer since the other was occupied controlling the speed. Things got really interesting plowing snow since the blade lift/lower was yet another hand control and I only seem to have two hands.

When I bought my JD lawn tractor, one of my absolute required criteria was foot peddle HST control. This surprisingly eliminated many many lawn tractors.

I'd never buy anything but foot HST controls

will only take u a few times to get used to foot hst , once u remember that the pedal is not the brake like some people did/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif also i have cruise on my 2400 and pretty sure the 7500 has it ,not sure about the bx.

The B7500 does have the cruise control. Pushing a lever locks the hst pedal basically. I used it once or twice when I first got the tractor just to try it out. I have since found that the pedal arrangement is so comfortable it is really not necessary. You forget your foot is even on the pedal.
