when you turn the wheel hard right in reverse this "flutter noise" comes from the front axle area. said something to the dealer, he came and picked up the tractor and was told that he tore the front axle completely apart and found nothing wrong. now I'm starting to notice this in forward gear also. front axle is full of grease to the point it won't take anymore. was wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

As long as the dealer has had it in for that problem, I'd run it until it gets worse.
Sounds like a front axle problem, that didn't show up when opened up. If it breaks (confirm this with your dealer), will it be covered (I would expect it will). Until there is advanced wear, I suspect just looking at unworn parts isn't easy. I would expect the axle was put back together with all correct adjustments, but one doesn't know that the mechanics follow all those intricate procedures. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif One can only trust that they do.
Sometimes the mechanics in a shop get judged and rated by how quick they do the work, not how meticulous they do the work. Many jobs are like that, unfortunately. Sorry to side track here. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It may depend on your tires and if the mower deck is on--I believe that there are different mounting set-ups for the mower deck (the spring loaded "pin" for the front hanger in specific) and it may rub on the edge of the tire when at a tight turn (I would guess it could be worse with R4 or R1 tires). Check this first--then look in the archives--there may be a better answer to which "pin" you need on the hanger bracket. Hope this helps!

I meant to mention, but assume this is doing this "flutter noise" when the tractor is NOT in 4wd.

My dealer made this mistake and put on the wrong pin. It should be one that has a 90 degree bend-like an allen wrench. I have R4 tires.

The pin on the front hanger for the MMM which allows you to take off the front hanger and remove the MMM. The 54" and 62" MMM are interchangeable with the X series. When I upgraded to the 2210 the delaer just swapped over the MMM but didn't change the front hangers' pin

Is the noise noticeable in grass, blacktop, concrete, and dirt?
If it is only on hard surfaces, it could be tires scrubbing on the pavement. Is the toe-in adjusted properly?

I hear the noise the most when I'm mowing. as far as the
toe-in adjustment, I'm assuming the dealer has this adjusted correctly. the wheels seem to be straight, it doesn't pull left or right when traveling on the road.
